Fellowships for 2 years at DESY for PostDocs from China 

Dear Colleagues
Please take note of this excellent opportunity for a 2y Fellowship at DESY for PostDocs from China.

Since several years DESY is successfully participating in the PostDoc exchange program from the Helmholtz Association and the Office of the China Postdoctoral Council (OCPC).  In total about 50 positions are eligible for all Helmholtz Centers. 

- Title: Helmholtz-OCPC Chinese postdoc program
- Scope: 2-year research stays of Chinese postdocs at DESY working in a specific project
- Funding: ~€3100/month 
          with ~€1600/month co-funded through OCPC) and ~€1500/month through DESY
- The advertisements/profiles of possible projects are posted on the Chinese OCPC website.
- Deadline for application through the OCPC web site is the 30th of April.
     It is necessary to register to the OCPC website in advance for the application submission.
     The Chinese applicants can log on to the OCPC website, after registration with an account at:
     http://www.chinapostdoctor.org.cn/auth/login.html . 
     Then the applicants can track all the different calls on the OCPC webpage.
- The selection via OCPC in China is finished by the end of May.
- Final selection of candidates is done within a month by the DESY group/project leader

In our DESY group we have an opening for a Postdoc from China interested in the highly-competitive area of Quantum Computing Application which has a bright perspective in future. The envisaged project is related to Quantum Machine Learning and employing GANs (generative adversarial networks) for the simulation of calorimeters. A brief description of the projects is uploaded to the Chinese OCPC website.
